Since it is my final semester of getting my BFA in Illustration,Comics Emphasis. I decided to take the time to submit 2 paintings to the 2026 Spring Show. And both were accepted! So I made this page to go through the process on each, and will add the link to my work through my school when it becomes available.

Fantasy Illustration Process

Part 1: Character Design

I started off with 5 interactions of this character in thumbnail sketch form. 3 of them I continued on to linework to see how well they would read. Finally I went to color, at which point I omitted the wings temporarily.

Part 2. Environment design and character rough/linework

After completing my character design, I began working through ideas for the final design. I struggled with this part a lot and couldn’t think of any good ideas. Thankfully, the first thumbnail had potential, so I decided to run with it.

Finally into color, due to time constraints, I did not get the painting as far as I would have liked. The facial features are underdeveloped because I was trying to stick to one style, and the colors/background were over saturated/detailed.
